GUILD Collective  will be having a Red Tag sale throughout the store from Wed, February 22 through Saturday, February 25 and ALL Zinnia Folk Arts will be 20% off.  A few things will be marked down even more…

What will be included?  Day of the Dead folk art, some Guatemalan saints, some ceramics, some Frida Kahlo things, glassware, and a few random things that are “last ones.”

If you’re wondering whether something will be marked down, just ask on the handy form below!

Shiny Alpaca or German Silver Handmade Folk Art from Mexico

German silver boxes

German Silver Napkin Rings

German silver earrings

Alpaca Earrings Available in the online shop, click on the photo!

How do you like these alpaca boxes, napkin holders and earrings? These are made of an alloy of silver, called “Alpaca” in Mexico
but also known as nickel silver or “German silver.”
These pieces are lovely, shiny and so much less expensive than silver. AND, they do not tarnish, so no need to use elbow grease.

These are available at GUILD Collective or contact me (with the handy form below) for prices and sizes.

Happy Three Kings Day!

We definitely have the shiny Mexican tin ornaments in all kinds of shapes–painted and unpainted. And hearts and sacred hearts made of the non-tarnishing nickel silver. And lots of funny ones made of paper mache.

Shop Small TODAY, Saturday, November 26, at Zinnia Folk Arts

Zinnia Folk Arts at GUILD Collective will be participating in the efforts to encourage people to
“Shop Small”
on Saturday, November 26–the day after Black Friday.

What’s so great about it is that if you use your American Express card to purchase something from a small business, you will receive a $25 credit from American Express on your next statement. You must register your American Express Card right here to get the offer!

We all know that small businesses are essential for community economies and that they provide a  spark of  uniqueness and creativity in what’s rapidly becoming a cookie-cutter world. You won’t find a Zinnia Folk Arts on every corner, in every city and every state.

You will only find it at GUILD Collective, 4414 Excelsior Blvd, St. Louis Park, MN.

We’d love to have your support!

Holiday PopUp Boutique Starts Today!

Holiday PopUp Boutique Arrives Thursday, November 25

Getting Ready for La Navidad

Tomorrow kicks off our official start to holiday shopping at GUILD Collective. We’ll be having a very special glittery, shiny, sparkly event all day tomorrow from 10-6 at 4414 Excelsior Blvd, St. Louis Park. I’ve moved some of the shiny things (tin ornaments, alpaca milagros, these handmade pinatas, and some other bright folk art) into GUILD as the beginning of the countdown to the Zinnia Holiday Pop-Up sale which will begin on Friday, November 25.

Stop by for some nibbles and to see the amazing front window put together by two very creative artists–Debra Pesak and Kelli May Krenz.

It’s going to be very inspiring!

Mexican Folk Art Placemats for the Thanksgiving Table

A few weeks ago at GUILD  Collective we put together a table that mixed pieces from Mexico with vintage dishes and silverware. It was surprising how beautiful the whole thing looked–a real mezcla/mixture–of old and new, Mexican tapestry placemats, religious icons and traditional china (see first picture) and glassware. If you’re starting to think about your Thanksgiving or holiday table, consider going global and combining the unexpected in a fresh way. If you are in need of some happy color to add to the mix, take a look at these colorful placemats, available online. They come in lots of different colors–each one is unique!

Our new holiday hours at GUILD went into effect this week and we will be open on Sundays, starting November 6 from 12-5.  I’ll be working tomorrow!
